Introduction

I am not an swiftlet consultant nor I already have successful swiftlet farm. I am just like one of the many newbies (or swiftlet enthusiast) out there who is dreaming of having a successful swiftlet farm...someday.

Well, dreaming is always nice but in reality this is never been easy. There are various ways for one to get involved into this venture. To own a BH is not too hard but to be able to own a successful one is certainly another story.

For those who are financially loaded they can purchase a successful BH directly. However they still have to be observative as their BH need to be constantly monitored and managed well in order to retain their BH in a competitive mode.

I have been involved in residential design, and construction in both Malaysia and Australia for about 11 years. As a building designer and  licensed home energy assessor, I believe my profession to some extend does helping  me to learn, study, analyse and understand swiftlet farming a little bit better.

Certainly, there are so much more to learn as our tenants are swiftlets, not human beings and we can't have bird talk with AF....... this is where the excitement (and pain) is.

I have attracted into the world of swiftlet in mid of year 2009. From then on I can't stop myself from wanting to know more about swiftlet farming. At that time I have very limited idea on what is swiftlet farming about. What i did know was majority people use shop lot for swiftlet farming and I almost know nothing about BH that exclusively built for this venture.

As today my first BH that located on an agricultural land in Hilir Perak will soon be completed and ready for operation in less then 3 weeks time.

What have I been doing for the last two and a half years before I started my first BH project two months ago?

Taking the first step is always the hardest. Especially when I am still living off shore. From seeking swiftlet farming information, filter and analyse them, right to finding and identifying suitable land and turn my vision into action. Since I have gone through this, this is what I am going to share.....my swiftlet farming venture.

Above is just my personal experience as a newbie and  I am just one of the many swiftlet enthusiasts out there who are doing the same............. lets share together. All comments are welcome.
